Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Freight Agent to join our growing logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in freight brokering or logistics coordination and be motivated to drive business growth through relationship building and efficient freight management.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage freight brokerage operations, including carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and load booking
Build and maintain relationships with shippers, carriers, and logistics partners
Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight
Track shipments and resolve any issues or delays proactively
Maintain accurate records of shipments, billing, and documentation
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and service quality
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a freight agent, broker, or in a similar logistics role
Strong knowledge of transportation logistics, modes, and industry regulations
An existing book of business is highly preferred
Proficiency with TMS (Transportation Management System) software
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
