This is an Operations position responsible for moving trucks and trailers in and out of dock doors for loading and unloading. Responsibilities include collaborating with loaders and supervision to move trucks and trailers according to door assignments; checking seals and refrigeration units; moving trucks and trailers from dock to dock; ensuring trailers or trucks are fully loaded and secured; coordinating with transportation management and fleet shop management; maintaining yard cleanliness; arranging trucks and trailers efficiently; recording start up time and reefer set points; and ensuring trailer doors are closed when not docked. Additional duties may include checking oil and fluid levels, fueling, washing trailers, and inspecting lights, hoses, and tires. Qualifications include less than high school education, 1 year of warehouse or transportation experience preferred, truck backing experience preferred, valid driver’s license required, and ability to obtain Pallet Jack and Forklift Certification from Sysco. Professional skills required include effective communication, basic math skills, problem solving, adaptability, integrity, teamwork, safety awareness, and physical ability to perform job duties including climbing into trailers and tractors. Working conditions involve exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, all weather conditions, occasional fumes or airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
