Job Summary: The Structural Detailer at Deville Steel is responsible for transforming engineering and architectural designs into accurate and comprehensive fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel components. This role is critical in ensuring the constructability, accuracy, and efficiency of our steel projects, bridging the gap between design and production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed fabrication drawings (shop drawings) for structural steel members (beams, columns, trusses, etc.) and miscellaneous metals.
• Develop clear and accurate erection drawings, including piece marks, field bolt locations, and installation sequences.
• Interpret and apply architectural and structural engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Ensure all detailing work complies with AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) codes, industry standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Generate accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and cutting lists.
• Identify and resolve potential issues or discrepancies in design or constructability through RFI (Request for Information) processes.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and erectors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Perform self-checks and peer reviews of drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent technical certification in Structural Detailing, CAD, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel detailing.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing software (e.g., Tekla Structures, SDS/2, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of structural steel shapes, connections, and fabrication processes.
• In-depth knowledge of AISC detailing standards and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
