Job Details Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in single-plaintiff employment litigation matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour disputes.
- Assist with the defense of class and collective actions on an as-needed basis.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, and prepare cases for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial.
- Communicate with clients, provide risk assessments, and develop case strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Attend depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and court hearings.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex matters, while taking ownership of assigned cases.
- Gain hands-on experience in trial preparation and trial advocacy as opportunities arise.
What we're looking for:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar license in California.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in employment defense litigation.
- Familiarity with California employment laws and federal employment regulations.
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
