Overview

Senior Director of Translational Research and Data Solutions role at Tempus AI. Tempus' platform connects real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians to guide treatments. Tempus is seeking a Senior Director, Translational Research to join the Life Science Data team, focusing on establishing and expanding partnerships with pharmaceutical companies while driving revenue for Tempus product lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Cultivate and expand partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients to drive revenue and meet or exceed goals.
• Lead development of targeted solutions for customers, leveraging Tempus data and services to impact R&D and commercial objectives.
• Develop and implement scientific strategies and reports to drive customer engagement as a trusted scientific advisor.
• Build relationships with R&D and commercial executives at partner organizations to identify additional value-creation opportunities.
• Oversee scientific project execution teams delivering translational and real-world evidence projects within contracted specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Lead the scientific data solutions team and help partners understand Tempus data products and frame collaborations.
• Provide guidance on computational and statistical strategies and analysis of genomic and clinical data; ensure scalability, accuracy, and quality of study analyses and deliverables.
• Stay ahead of industry trends to innovate data products and workflows based on client feedback.
• Support biopharma partnerships with proposals focused on early to mid-stage drug development, including patient/indication selection, biomarkers, and combination strategies.
• Provide scientific support on special projects, including evaluating emerging technologies and datasets.

Qualifications

• Education: Advanced degree (PhD or MD) preferred, combining quantitative/computational skills with biological/medical knowledge.
• Experience: 5+ years working with Life Sciences companies in R&D and/or Real-World Data; industry experience required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R; experience in integrative methods to model multi-modal clinical and/or omics data.
• Leadership: Proactive mindset to bridge ideas to solutions; ability to build deep relationships with pharmaceutical stakeholders.
• Desired Traits: Positive, energetic, thrives in fast-paced environments, comfortable with quick iterations.

Salary and Location

CHI Salary Range: $190,000 - $270,000 USD

NYC/SF Salary Range: $220,000 - $290,000 USD

The expected salary range applies if the role is performed from California and may vary by location. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation and stock options where applicable.
