Job Title: Director of Data & AI

Location: Vinings, GA

Work Arrangement: In-office 4 days/week, remote on Friday’s

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Data & AI to lead our client’s enterprise data and artificial intelligence initiatives. This role will oversee cross-functional teams focused on advanced analytics, AI/ML, and data platform development. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of aligning data and AI strategies with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple technology teams responsible for developing and supporting enterprise data and AI solutions.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive data and AI roadmap aligned with organizational objectives.
• Oversee the design and deployment of scalable AI/ML models and data platforms in production environments.
• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives.
• Monitor project progress, remove roadblocks, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
• Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively across projects and teams.
• Present updates and advocate for team needs to senior leadership.
• Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes and technology strategies.
• Represent the organization in external leadership and development forums.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in information technology.
• 3+ years of experience in a director-level leadership role, managing both direct and indirect reports.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML frameworks and best practices.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and data platforms (Snowflake, Google BigQuery).
• Deep expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and master data management.
• Demonstrated success in building and mentoring high-performing, cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience leading AI/ML teams, including data scientists, ML engineers, and data engineers.

Nature and Scope

• Operates with significant autonomy and decision-making authority.
• Responsible for setting and adjusting departmental goals and plans.
• May manage through multiple layers of leadership or directly oversee senior-level individual contributors.
• Solutions require complex analysis and strategic thinking.
• Reporting to VP of Technology

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based with a comfortable indoor setting.
• Minimal physical demands; occasional light lifting.
• Travel requirements are minimal (less than 10%).
