We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our Security Operations Center ( SOC ) team. As a Security Engineer, you will provide technical expertise in securing enterprise systems, networks, and data, and will be instrumental in enhancing the agency’s security posture in alignment with federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements. You will work closely with SOC analysts, incident resp ond ers, threat hunters, and system administrators to ensure security tools are operational, tuned, and integrated effectively across the enterprise.
What You’ll Work On:
Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure and tools that protect the client's systems and data from cyber threats.
Design, configure, and deploy security tools like firewalls, int rus ion detection or prevention systems ( IDS or IPS ) , SIEM ( Security Information and Event Management ) solutions, EDR ( Endpoint Detection and Response ) tools, and cloud security solutions.
Ensure the effective operation and maintenance of security tools, including configuration, patching, updates, and troubleshooting in compliance with agency change control processes.
Document technical processes, tool configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

You Have:
7+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role such as a security engineer collaborating with security operations teams and systems administrators to maintain security tools
Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS or IPS, SIEMs, and endpoint security
Experience with common log formats, including syslog, Windows Event, or JSON, and threat detection use cases
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or IT field
Nice If You Have:
Experience working in a SOC or cyber operations environment
Experience administering Tenable, including Nessus, Tenable.sc, or Tenable.io, and Elastic Stack SIEM
Experience with NIST 800-53 and other federal cybersecurity frameworks
Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
Security Certification such as CISSP, CySA+, CASP+, CompTIA Security +, CCSP, CISM, or CEH Certification
