Job Description

Job Title: AIP (Anatomical Imaging and Pathology) Technician – Histology/Necropsy

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, First Shift

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. No degree: ≥4 years of histology experience.
  2. OR
  3. Associate’s degree in Biological Sciences (or equivalent) + HT(ASCP) certification + 2 years histology experience.
  4. OR
  5. Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences (or equivalent) + 1 year histology experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • >7 years histology experience (no degree).
  • OR
  • Associate’s degree + >3 years necropsy/histology experience (HT(ASCP) preferred).
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree + >1 year necropsy/histology experience (HT(ASCP) preferred).

(HT(ASCP) certification is a plus but not required.)

Technical Skills Required:

  • Experience in necropsy/histology and lab techniques for rodents (rats/mice) and non-rodents (dogs, NHPs) in a GLP environment .
  • Proficiency with electronic data capture systems (e.g., spreadsheets, lab software).
  • Strong teamwork, data accuracy, and compliance with SOPs/GLP/EHS standards .

Position Summary:

  • Perform necropsy, tissue trimming, processing, slide preparation, staining, and data documentation for preclinical safety studies.
  • Ensure compliance with protocols, SOPs, GLP, and animal welfare regulations .
  • Support studies ranging from early research to 13-week safety assessments .

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct necropsy and histology tasks (study setup, tissue processing, QC, archiving).
  2. Maintain supplies/equipment and prepare study materials (labels, forms).
  3. Review data for accuracy, troubleshoot equipment/issues.
  4. Collaborate with Study Directors, Pathologists, and lab teams to ensure protocol adherence.

Work Environment:

  • GLP-compliant lab (safety-focused).
  • Interact with pathologists, lab managers, QC teams, and global pathology groups .
