Job Description

Plumbing Designer

We’re looking for an experienced Plumbing Designer to take ownership of plumbing and fire protection system design for a wide range of building projects—ranging from government and healthcare to commercial and high-end residential developments. This role is responsible for producing high-quality construction documents, collaborating across disciplines, and contributing throughout all stages of the project lifecycle—from early planning through to construction support.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the layout and design of plumbing and fire protection systems for new construction and renovation projects across multiple sectors (government, multifamily, healthcare, mixed-use, hospitality, etc.).
  • Prepare detailed drawings, plans, specifications, calculations, and equipment schedules.
  • Visit project sites as needed to conduct fieldwork, verify existing conditions, and support feasibility assessments.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural, civil, and MEP teams to ensure coordinated and code-compliant designs.
  • Contribute to the technical quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery of all design work while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction and safety.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical training preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience designing plumbing systems in a consulting or design-build environment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and design workflows.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Bluebeam for documentation and communication.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills—capable of balancing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, driven, and collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
