Why Choose Us: · Health (Medical, Dental, Vision) and 401K Benefits for full-time employees · Employee Assistance Program – mental, physical, and financial wellness assistance · Professional development, Growth opportunities, and Mentor-based training · And much more… Position Summary: Sovah Health is looking for someone who under the supervision of a physician, provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services to patients in an assigned area/service. • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination. • Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures. • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. • Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care. • Must possess background knowledge in the biological, behavioral, medical and nursing services relevant to the practice as a Physician’s Assistant and possess knowledge of the legal, ethical and professional responsibilities of a Physician’s Assistant. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Education Graduate of a Physician's Assistant Program, accredited by a credentialing center recognized by the Board of Health Sciences, i.e. American Nurses' Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Physician's Assistants. Master's level preparation preferred. Maintain at least the minimum number of continuing education hours necessary to sustain valid state licensure and national certifications X Required Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required Licenses: Licensed as a Physician's Assistant in the state of Virginia and licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Physician's Assistant. Must have a current Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
