We're currently looking for a
Managing Director or Partner - Construction Expert Witness to join our
Forensics, Valuation & Litigation Support (FVLS) team in the NYC metro area. If you're ready to take on high-profile disputes and arbitration support work, and grow your career in a people-first firm, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Do As a leader at the firm, you will expand DLA's capabilities through hands-on practice building. Your day-to-day may include:
- Leading engagements involving construction litigation, delay analysis, quantum and damages assessments, and cost disputes
- Providing expert testimony in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Conducting forensic analysis of infrastructure and capital projects, including delays, defects, compliance, and cost overruns
- Preparing expert reports, demonstratives, and litigation exhibits that withstand cross-examination
- Supporting attorneys and stakeholders with clear technical and financial insights
- Developing and executing strategic growth plans for the FVLS practice
- Building client relationships and generating new business opportunities
- Mentoring junior team members and fostering practice development
What You'll Bring We know great team members come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some things we typically look for:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
- 12+ years of experience in construction, engineering, project management, or dispute resolution
- Proven track record as an expert witness in construction or infrastructure disputes
- Certifications such as PE, AIA, PMP, or CCM
- Strong communication skills to simplify complex technical issues
- A collaborative spirit and entrepreneurial mindset
- Willingness to travel as needed for client matters
