POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a contract-to-hire position at Crafty Counter for a high-energy, dedicated, detail-oriented individual. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Graphic Designer to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone who has a flair for design, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for storytelling through visuals.
You will work closely with the CEO and our marketing and sales teams to bring the Crafty Counter brand to life across multiple platforms and mediums.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design engaging visuals for digital and print marketing materials, including social media posts, email campaigns, website assets, packaging , and trade show collateral
- Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to develop creative concepts and execute designs aligned with the Crafty Counter brand
- Assist in creating and maintaining brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all design assets
- Edit and retouch product photography for use in marketing materials and online platforms
- Support packaging design projects, including updates, revisions, and adaptations across SKUs
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input for campaigns and projects
- Stay up to date with design trends, tools, and best practices
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–2 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in a startup and/or CPG environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Canva experience is a plus
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design skills across digital, print, and packaging work
Basic packaging design knowledge , including:
- Essential - Understanding of packaging dielines, trim, bleed, and safe zones
- Ability to design within existing dielines and brand systems
- Familiarity with print-ready file setup (CMYK, spot colors, resolution, exports)
- Awareness of common CPG packaging constraints such as legibility, hierarchy, and shelf impact
Basic awareness of food packaging requirements , including:
- Designing around nutrition facts panels, ingredient statements, barcodes, and required legal copy
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Strong understanding of branding principles and consistent brand application
- Basic knowledge of web design and video editing tools is a bonus
- Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
