Java Developer (Production Support)
McLean, VA, 22103 – ONSITE
6 Months CTH
Must Have Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with Production support, on call work, strong written and verbal communication, looking at dashboard, trouble shooting, Analytical, and understand the business. 60/40 split- WebLogic, AWS, EKS, Postgres, Angular, react, spring boot, Java, MongoDB, Postgres, and knowledge of DB2.
- Some exposure to Atlassian suite is required.
- Please note: The focus would primarily be production support and addressing customer issues. There would be an opportunity for some automation and product development but that would depend on priority.
- Schedule: Non-Standard- Typical hours will be standard but for 1 week every 2 months there is a rotational on call requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience engineering awesome solutions and demonstrated experience in application production support.
- 4 + years of demonstrated experience working in modernized development teams
- Knowledge and experience in designing for and implementing solutions in the cloud (AWS). This can range from custom code on IaaS/PaaS to SaaS solution integrations.
- Languages: Java, Angular, node.js, Python
- Modern Tools: Jenkins, Cucumber, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket), Git
- DBs: DB2, Mongo, PostgreSQL
- Cloud: AWS Other: EKS, Docker, OpenShift
- Monitoring Tools: DynaTrace, Splunk, ELK/ESS
- Scheduling Tools: Autosys, Control-M
- You will be part of a team that is undergoing modernization, driving adoption of modern software engineering delivery practices (Real Agile, TDD, ATDD, Stateless Design, Microservices, Containerization, etc.) and provides application support and continuous business value to its users and customers.
- You bring knowledge and experience in supporting applications in cloud.
- You will be responsible for interfacing with business lines and others across IT and will use your strong communication and problem solving skills to do this efficiently.
- You will use your deep system knowledge, debugging expertise to come up with strategic solutions for production support.
