Electrical Estimator
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 Total Compensation
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in the Olathe, KS area. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse commercial projects including multi-family apartment complexes, hotels, schools, and other commercial buildings in project values up to $8-10 million. Industrial experience is a plus, or a willingness to learn industrial estimating is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of two junior estimators, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors in the Kansas City metro area.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and methodologies to ensure competitive and accurate estimating.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and participate in bid reviews and negotiations.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator with a strong background in commercial projects.
- Experience with multi-family, hotels, schools, and other large-scale commercial projects.
- Familiarity with project values up to $8-10 million.
- Connections with general contractors in the Kansas City metro area.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred, but not required.
