Job Title: Director of Rehabilitation Licensing and Certification: Licensed as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist in California. Valid CPR certification required. Job Summary: The Director of Rehabilitation oversees the policies, objectives, initiatives, and programs for delivering rehabilitation therapy to patients. Responsibilities include supervising staff, business planning, budget development, and ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves leading a team, strategic planning, and fostering a high-performance, quality-focused environment. Key Responsibilities: Apply the facility's philosophy, principles, and technology. Demonstrate continuous personal development and improvement. Manage employees effectively and communicate clearly (verbal and written). Make independent decisions based on gathered information. Maintain a customer service-oriented attitude. Communicate with physicians and professionals regarding patient treatment programs. Perform initial patient evaluations and monitor responses to treatments. Ensure compliance with regulatory statutes and rules. Educate patients, families, and staff as appropriate. Understand budgeting principles and manage the rehabilitation department. Provide staff training and supervise therapy programs. Maintain documentation such as progress notes and treatment plans. Develop positive relationships with physicians and internal/external customers. Apply professional judgment to solve complex issues. Work to meet and exceed patient needs. Promote an environment of innovation, creativity, and empowerment. Manage the department in accordance with state law and strategic plans. Enforce policies and procedures for rehabilitation services. Assist with recruitment and participate in facility meetings. Coordinate discharge planning and equipment needs. Participate in family conferences and weekend coverage as needed.
