Job Description

Hardware Retail Partnerships - Direct to Consumer Lead

Join to apply for the Hardware Retail Partnerships - Direct to Consumer Lead role at Square

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.

We expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

The Role

We're looking for a strategic, experienced Hardware Retail Partnerships - DTC Lead to grow our Direct-to-Consumer distribution of Square Hardware across key third-party platforms and digital retail partners. This role is responsible for managing relationships with major retail marketplaces and DTC channels (e.g. Amazon, TikTok Shop, Instacart), driving revenue, optimizing performance, and ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints.

  • Set the DTC strategy: Define a long-term strategic roadmap to elevate the Square customer journey, grow revenue via Hardware sales, and influence cross functional teams to align DTC with broader business goals.
  • Develop and execute channel-specific strategies to drive sales, optimize product listings, and improve customer acquisition and retention.
  • Analyze performance metrics (traffic, conversion, ROAS, etc.) and optimize campaigns, pricing, promotions, and product positioning accordingly.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns and promotions aligned with channel strategies and seasonal opportunities.
  • Partner with operations to ensure inventory availability, demand forecasting, and seamless fulfillment across channels.
  • Maintain brand standards and compliance across all third-party listings and storefronts.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Own P&L accountability for each DTC retail partner; manage budgets, ad spend, and performance KPIs.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years retail marketing and partnerships experience, preferably in the Consumer Electronics space, and deep experience working with Amazon and other DTC channels.
  • An analytical, structured thought process with the ability to assess business opportunities and marketing campaign performance.
  • Successfully launched products at new and existing retailers.
  • The ability to keep colleagues, team members, and other partners aligned.
  • A BA or relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel (estimated 20%).
  • Experience operating autonomously while working with others.

We're working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace.
