Description Robert Half is seeking a skilled and dependable Cantonese Translator for a one-day assignment. The translator will assist with precise language interpretation and translation to support an individual or team during an event, meeting, or project. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong language proficiency, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle real-time or document-based translations effectively. Key Responsibilities: + Accurately and efficiently translate spoken or written content between Cantonese and English during the assignment. + Facilitate clear communication between speakers of Cantonese and English in meetings or activities requiring linguistic support. + Perform minor edits or proofreading of translated materials, if needed. + Adapt translations to accommodate various contexts (e.g., business, formal, or casual settings) and reflect appropriate cultural nuances. + Ensure confidentiality and professionalism when handling discussions, documents, and information. Requirements + Proficiency in Cantonese and English, both written and spoken (native or near-native fluency preferred). + Previous experience as a translator or interpreter is highly desirable. + Strong listening, comprehension, and attention-to-detail skills. + Ability to remain professional and composed in fast-paced settings. + Knowledge of cultural differences and sensitivity to nuances in communication.
