Location: Columbus, OH + surrounding areas (travel to venues)

Job Type: Contract (Event-Based)

Pay: $30/hour

Travel: Mileage reimbursed round-trip beyond 25 miles from Columbus/home base at the IRS rate

Schedule: Must be available on weekends (events booked well in advance)

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable, calm, professional Assistant Wedding Coordinator to support wedding day execution alongside the Lead Planner. This is an event-based independent contractor (1099) position (not a full-time role).

What You’ll Do (Day-Of Support)

Support the Lead Planner in executing the wedding day timeline and logistics, including:

• Vendor check-ins and directing vendors to correct locations
• Wedding party lineup and processional staging support
• Communicating cues and updates to the Lead Planner (timing, readiness, issues)
• Managing transitions (ceremony to photos to cocktail hour to reception)
• Guest direction and basic crowd flow (seating, entrances, where to go next)
• Managing small “day-of saves” (stain wipe, safety pins, tape, quick fixes)
• Assisting with light setup tasks (signage placement, welcome table items, small décor placement) as directed
• End-of-night support with packing/collecting designated personal items and décor under Lead Planner direction
• Escalating anything that affects timeline, client experience, or vendor execution to the Lead Planner immediately

• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to venues
• Professional appearance and strong communication
• Able to be on your feet and moving throughout an event day
• Comfortable following systems, checklists, and direction from the Lead Planner
