Position Title: Assistant Controller

Wage: Based on Experience

An Assistant Controller position in Springfield, MO is available through Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions. Our client, a global manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join their growing finance team. This is a critical role supporting the Controller across all facets of financial close, reporting, analysis, and team leadership. If you're an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and has a strong understanding of GAAP, QuickBooks, and ERP systems, we want to hear from you. This is an onsite position with some flexibility after initial training. The company offers a strong compensation and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for multiple entities
- Handle expense accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany reconciliations
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support consolidated financial statements
- Validate revenue recognition timing with cross-functional teams
- Maintain revenue schedules and deferred revenue balances
- Review service jobs and customer prepayments for accurate reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting including AP, credit cards, payroll, and VAT compliance for global entities
- Maintain internal control documentation and audit trails
- Generate weekly/monthly reports including sales, cash collections, A/R aging, and inventory
- Support department P&Ls, budgeting, forecasting, and business reviews
- Supervise and support 2–3 accounting team members in AR and AP
- Delegate tasks, give performance feedback, and foster a collaborative culture
- Identify and implement accounting process improvements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA or CMA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Experience with multi-entity and international accounting preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- QuickBooks and ERP experience require
- Adaptive Planning experience a plus
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
